Overview
The Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008 (the Act) will replace the Health Act 1958 on 1 January 2010. For further information, please refer to the News Bulletin enclosed in Pest Control Newsletter number 26. The Act and the regulations made under it will contain the licensing requirements for PCOs.
To outline the changes to occur in the PCO licensing system under the new legislation and provide advice on the RIS process, the Pest Control Program conducted a series of RIS Roadshows during September and October 2009. These information sessions, held at various locations throughout the state, were extremely well received by those in attendance.
A copy of the Regulatory Impact Statement Roadshow presentation, including slide notes is now available for download below. For further information regarding the new legislation visit the Public Health and Wellbeing Act website or contact the Pest Control Program on 1300 887 090.
