- The number of Australian-born women having babies has remained steady since 1985, with figures fluctuating between 75% to 76.6% of all women giving birth in Victoria.
- A further breakdown of the Asian born mothers shows that in 2004, 56.6% of these women came from South East Asia, 18.6% from North East Asia and 25.2% from Southern Asia.
