The Department of Health works with Victorian health services to achieve healthcare that is highly reliable, delivered in partnership with consumers and is based on the best information and evidence, in order to deliver safe, efficient and effective healthcare to the community.
The department achieves this through policy development, planning, resource allocation and monitoring of performance, working towards the systematic improvement of safety and quality in Victorian healthcare.
