SCTT 2012 : Single page, multi-item screening toolIntroductionAs part of the SCTT 2012 revision, a single page, multi-item screening tool has been developed for use. The tool can be completed by consumers or practitioners.A pilot is being arranged to test the tool. Agencies are being sought to pilot test the tool over the two week period 19 to 30 September 2011. What is involved in the pilot? Each agency that participates in the pilot will be requested to test the single page, multi-item screening tool with adult consumers as part of regular initial needs identification practice. The consumer will be given the single page tool to complete. The practitioner will also complete the tool separately during conversation with the consumer. This will enable the results of the consumer completed tool to be compared with the results of the practitioner completed tool. In addition practitioners will be asked to complete a feedback sheet and provide comments about the tool and questions in terms of their appropriateness, usefulness and effectiveness. Agencies will receive some financial reimbursement for their participation in the pilot. What will the outcomes be?HDG Consulting Group has been contracted by the Victorian Department of Health to conduct the project. The data collected through the pilot will be analysed for reliability, validity and usability. The results will be documented in a report for consideration by the Department of Health SCTT 2012 Revision Steering Committee who will make final recommendations regarding use of the tool. As a quick, single page, multi-item tool, that has been developed based on feedback from the sector, it is envisaged that the tool will streamline the use of the SCTT and support good practice as part of initial needs identification. Primary Care PartnershipsPrimary Care Partnerships will provide general Service Coordination support throughout the pilot. Agencies and practitioners participating in the pilot will be able to contact the consultants directly for information and support.Register here. (Registrations close by Friday 26 August). |
