Overview
The forum on the revision and future of Victoria's Service Coordination Tool Templates convened on the morning of Wednesday 25 November was an opportunity for those who attended to hear about the:
- national e-health directions;
- progress of the department-wide data reform work;
- e-referral and HL7 messaging; and
- service coordination in Victoria.
More than 100 people attended the forum. A large number of those who attended were vendors of patient / client management applications to the health and human services sectors – including software vendors to general practice - and vendors of e-referral systems. Representatives of health and human services agencies, Victoria’s Primary Care Partnerships, the regional ICT Alliances, numerous peak bodies, and both state and commonwealth government also attended.
Adam Powick (Partner Deloitte) delivered the key note presentation. Adam walked all in attendance through the national e-health strategy and made clear the imperative of connecting and working together. Andrew Howard (Chief Information Officer Department of Health), Jonathan Ashley (Manager Information Management Strategy Unit, Antonio Abbenante (Manager Integration Office of Health Information Systems), Jenk Akyalcin (Manager Partnerships Team), and Megan Buick (Program Consultant General Practice Victoria) also delivered presentations.
