Integrated health promotion

In Victoria, the term 'integrated health promotion' refers to:

'agencies and organisations from a wide range of sectors and communities in a catchment (local area) working in collaboration using a mix of health promotion interventions and capacity building strategies to address priority health and wellbeing issues.' (IHP Resource Kit p3)

To achieve effective integrated health promotion program delivery in the current Victorian context, the following points should be considered:

  1. Effective partnerships (IHP Resource Kit p3, point 1)
  2. A mix of interventions and common planning framework (IHP Resource Kit p3, point 2)
  3. A broad range of sectors (IHP Resource Kit p3, point 3)

Integrated health promotion in Primary Care Partnerships is focused on health promotion activities incorporated into the role of Primary Care Partnerships and its member agencies.
