PFC 2005
The Patient Flow Collaborative 2005 was an ambitious 18-month program delivering improvements in patient flow across Victorian Health Services.
The Patient Flow Collaborative fostered improvements across the Victorian Healthcare system. Health services developed a clearer understanding of patient flow and initiated innovations to reduce delays in patient processes.
Specific changes have been achieved in:
- patient clinical processes
- management of resources, for example beds
- reducing steps in processes that add no value to patient care
- developing shared ownership of care
- developing monitoring systems that identify delays and prompt staff.
