PFC 2005

The Patient Flow Collaborative 2005 was an ambitious 18-month program delivering improvements in patient flow across Victorian Health Services.

The Patient Flow Collaborative fostered improvements across the Victorian Healthcare system. Health services developed a clearer understanding of patient flow and initiated innovations to reduce delays in patient processes.

Specific changes have been achieved in:

  • patient clinical processes
  • management of resources, for example beds
  • reducing steps in processes that add no value to patient care
  • developing shared ownership of care
  • developing monitoring systems that identify delays and prompt staff.
