Promotion of the CharterPage content: Overview | Download documents OverviewThe Hon John Thwaites MP, Minister for Health launched the Public Hospital Patient Charter at the Western Hospital on 12 June 2002. Approximately approximately 120 people attended the launch from hospitals, community services, consumer groups and representatives from multicultural communities and enhanced awareness and knowledge about patient rights and responsibilities. The Department is actively encouraging public hospitals to adopt the principles of the Charter into their local environments. It is important to raise awareness and knowledge of the Charter across Victoria. The promotion of the Charter can occur in several ways including:
