Overview
The success of the Charter will depend on how hospitals actively communicate it to patients and the local community. If patients are provided with information about what to expect prior to attending hospital the experience for both patients and staff can only be improved.
It is important that all staff are aware of the Charter principles that highlight the expectations for both patients and hospital staff. Therefore the Charter materials need to be widely disseminated within the hospital and effectively communicated to all hospital staff.
Patients also need to have access to the Charter principles and materials. Hospitals need to employ strategies to effectively communicate the Charter to patients.
