Statewide Service Planning Framework for Paediatric OrthopaedicsBackgroundThe Department of Human Services undertook planning for paediatric orthopaedic
services in recognition of the growing demand for specialist paediatric
orthopaedic services. ScopeThe project scope included:
Project ManagementPhillips Fox and Cordyline Consulting were engaged to undertake the project. An Advisory Committee that included representatives from the Royal Children’s Hospital, Southern Health, Barwon Health, relevant professional bodies and the Department of Human Services oversaw the development of the framework. Broad service provider and consumer consultations were undertaken. The Framework was completed in 2006 and has been endorsed by the Minister for Health. Next StepsAn implementation plan has been developed that outlines departmental and health service responsibilities, including actions required and associated timelines. The Department will continue to work with providers of paediatric orthopaedic services to progress implementation of the Framework For more information contact: Sandy Bell |
