Post Acute Care Resource Allocation Model

In 2001-02, a new methodology was introduced for allocation of PAC Program funds between PAC Services. The basic principles of this funding model are:

  • The base population is hospital separations (including sub-acute and emergency department admissions);
  • Weightings for five factors that are considered to impact on the demand/need for PAC Services (age, socio-economic status, single parent, isolation and culturally and linguistically diverse background).
