Good nutrition is a vital component of healthy lifestyles, and contributes to the overall health and wellbeing of the community. Along with physical activity, healthy eating plays a key role in preventing disease and is fundamental to better public health.

- breastfeeding
- food security
- Indigenous nutrition
- overweight and obesity.

Provides a voluntary framework for improving the availability and promotion of healthier food and drink options for purchase on hospital premises. - The Healthy Eating Advisory Service

Provides current, quality assured and reliable information on healthy eating to help individuals and their communities improve their health and wellbeing.
The Filling the gaps: early childhood nutrition and physical activity needs assessment 2010
This needs assessment was conducted by The Royal Children's Hospital, as part of the Filling the Gaps project for the Department of Health of the State Government of Victoria. The aim of this research was to identify nutrition and physical activity practices and needs of children aged 0–8 years, including issues and needs of practitioners working with this group, in two Victorian high-needs rural and metropolitan local government areas.
