History of NPs in Victoria

Victoria was one of the first states in Australia to introduce the NP role and the Victorian Government has been supporting the development and implementation of the NP role since 1998.

1998	Ministerial Taskforce established
2000	Phase 1 Victorian NP Project Final Report of NP Taskforce released
	Nurse Practitioner Implementation Advisory Committee (NPIAC) established Nurses (Amendment) Bill 2000 passed Phase 1 evaluation completed
2001	Final Report NPIAC Pre-implementation Report, The Nurse Practitioner (Nurse Board of Victoria) released The Nurses (Amendment) Act 2000 came into effect.
2004	Phase 3 VNNP First NPs endorsed in Victoria
	VNPP Evaluation of eleven Phase 1 Demonstration projects report released
	VNPP Evaluation of sixteen Phase 2 Demonstration Projects report released
