Postgraduate Nurse Scholarships

If you are working in a Victorian public health service, you may be eligible for a scholarship to support you to do postgraduate study in areas of clinical practice that your employer nominates as important to their service.

How do you apply?

You must make your applications for these “general” postgraduate scholarships directly to your employer.

To find out if you might be eligible and what the conditions of the scholarships are, read the 2012 Scholarship guidelines first, then contact your Education officer or Director of Nursing to find out how and when to make an application.

null 2012 Scholarship Guidelines (pdf, 198kb)

Eligible public health services/rural consortia receive their scholarship quota from us by 25 October 2011 and will start their application processes after that date.

Health services are responsible for the selecting who receives the scholarships and in what areas of practice based on local or sector wide workforce shortages, projected demand in areas of clinical practice, or to align with workforce requirements for capital projects currently occurring or planned.

If you working in rural health service, a consortium of all the Directors of Nursing in your area operate a regional scholarship process. Therefore contact your local Director of Nursing or education team regarding applications.

The following scholarships are also available:

Nurse Practitioner (NP) Scholarships

A Victorian Nurse Practitioner Project (VNPP) Scholarship round will open in late October 2011 for nurses undertaking courses in 2012 that lead to endorsement as a NP. For information, go to the Nurse Practitioner scholarship page.
