Division 2 Paid Study Leave

Applications for Division 2 Paid Study Leave are now open

Nurse Policy Branch recognises and values the contribution of Division 2 nurses to the Victorian community. We also understand that professional development and training can be costly.

To assist Division 2 nurses to undertake courses that will develop their skills and knowledge, the Nurse Policy Branch offers a package of funding which includes:

• Study leave component (up to $1000) to employers to contribute to the cost of paid study leave
• Course cost component (up to $300) to assist Division 2 nurses with course costs.

Division 2 nurses working in public health services throughout rural and metropolitan Victoria may be eligible for one or both components of the grant.

Applications will only be accepted from health services on behalf of individual nurses. 

Division 2 nurses, wishing to apply for the grant should:

Step 1:  Read the 2009/2010 Guidelines. These guidelines contain important information about the application process and conditions of the grant.

Step 2:  Contact their Director of Nursing or Education Manager to apply.

Health services wishing to apply on behalf of their nurses should:

Step 2:  Check that the course has been approved. Use the online Nurse Policy Branch Approved Course List. Health services wishing to support Div 2 Nurses to complete unlisted learning programs should contact the Nurse Policy Branch on 9096 7154.

Step 3:  Send the completed 2009/2010 Application Form as an email attachment to Div2paid@dhs.vic.gov.au.

Only one batch of applications per funding period should be submitted. There is no limit to the number of applications submitted in each batch.

Key dates

Applications will be processed four (4) times in 2009 - 2010:

• 7 August 2009
• 6 November 2009
• 5 February 2010
• 7 May 2010
