Education and Training

There are now two approved qualifications for registration as an Enrolled nurse (Division 2).
Both courses: 

  • are offered at Victorian TAFEs or registered training organizations
  • include the approved training in medicines administration.
  • can be undertaken either as full-time, part-time studies or as a traineeship, and
  • may be Government subsidised, in which case students pay a small administration fee, or may be full fee-paying.

Approved qualifications for registration as an Enrolled nurse (Division 2)

 

HLT43407
Certificate IV in Nursing
(Enrolled/Division 2 Nursing)

HLT51607
Diploma of Nursing (
Enrolled/Division 2 Nursing)

 

  • At least 1018 hours in duration
  • Usually completed over one year (full time equivalent).

 

  • About 1400 hours (depending on elective selections)
  • Usually completed over 18 months (full time equivalent).

SPECIAL NOTE:

NMBA has advised that this Diploma qualification will apply from 1 July 2014 for registration an Enrolled Nurse (Division 2). This standard will only apply to new graduates applying for registration from that date.
