Division 2 Registered Nurses are a regulated body of health professionals and a valued member of the Victorian nursing workforce. Division 2 Registered Nurses contribute to the delivery of quality healthcare across a variety of service settings and clinical environments.
In other States and Territories, Division 2 Registered Nurses are known as Enrolled Nurses.
The Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council National Competency Standards for the Enrolled (Division 2) Nurse describe the role as:
An associate level nurse who demonstrates competence in the provision of patient-centered care as specified by the registering authority’s licence to practice, educational preparation and context of care.
The Nurses Board of Victoria describes the role of the Division 2 nurse as:
Working in collaboration with Division 1, 3 and 4 Registered Nurses and midwives who delegate or assign care of individuals, groups and communities who are in relatively stable heath situations.
Division 2 Registered Nurses also assist Division 1, 3 and 4 Registered Nurses and midwives with the care for people in unstable health situations.
Employment Opportunity
Upon completing HLT43407 Certificate IV in Nursing (Enrolled/Division 2 Nursing) and successfully registering with the Nurses Board of Victoria, Division 2 Registered Nurses are able to seek employment in a variety of service settings and clinical environments.
