Peter James celebrates 25 years of caring

23 July 2010
Earlier this month the Peter James Centre celebrated 25 years of providing dedicated care to tens of thousands of patients.
Established in 1985, the Peter James Centre in Burwood East provides rehabilitation and aged-care services to people following illness and surgery.
The centre also provides health services to those with disabilities and chronic illness.
The Peter James Centre has treated more than 94,100 patients in 25 years and with an ageing population the centre is treating more patients than ever before.
The centre admits nearly 2500 patients each year into its rehabilitation, geriatric evaluation and management and aged person psychiatric services.
The centre was named after the late Mr C.P.C James, former President and Chairman of the Committee of Management of the former Eastern Suburbs Geriatric Centre.
The centre has 60 rehabilitation beds, 38 complex rehabilitation beds, 30 residential aged-persons' mental health beds and 30 acute aged-persons' mental health beds.
Services include rehabilitation, geriatric medicine, aged persons mental health services, aged care assessment, aged psychiatry assessment, haemodialysis, residential care and transition care.
A wide range of ambulatory services, including home-based and centre-based rehabilitation services are also available.
