Recognising Victoria's outstanding nurses and midwives

The 2010 State Nursing and Midwifery Excellence Awards are calling for nominations.
The Excellence Awards began in 2003 to recognise and acknowledge the contribution made by nurses and midwives to their patients, residents and clients within the public health system.
The awards honour innovative and exceptional individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to the health outcomes of the Victorian community through their professional practice.
Nominations are invited from colleagues and managers working with nurses and midwives in the Victorian public health sector.
Nominees must hold a current registration as a registered nurse, registered midwife or enrolled nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and must be employed within the Victorian public health system or a public sector residential aged care service.
Nurses and midwives working at any level, from new graduates to senior nursing executives, across clinical, research, policy, education and management can be nominated for an award.
Award recipients will receive a scholarship up to the value of $10,000 to allow them to share their best practice with others or to develop an initiative further.

In 2010 awards will be presented in the following areas:
