Welcome

This part of the Victorian Government Health Information Website contains information relating to neonatal services in public hospitals in Victoria.

Neonatal services provide care for sick babies in the period immediately following their birth, including premature and low birth weight babies and babies born with congenital or other conditions which compromise their health or survival. 

The neonatal service system in Victoria comprises four neonatal intensive care units (NICUs), 18 special care nurseries (SCNs) and the Newborn Emergency Transport Service (NETS).
