Victorian Aboriginal Suicide Prevention and Response Action Plan 2010-2015Overview The Victorian Aboriginal Suicide Prevention and Response Action Plan 2010 - 2015 (the Action Plan) is the Victorian Government's strategy to prevent and reduce the the incidence and impact of Aboriginal suicide and self harm. The Action Plan development was overseen by a working group comprising Victorian central agencies and Aboriginal community and health organisations. The Action Plan will help inform the work of Government in partnership with Aboriginal communities, to develop and sustain improved pathways to care and support for those at risk of suicide or self harm. Four priority areas for action have been identified: 1. Prevention through building resilience; Under each of these priority areas is an exploration of current government and funded agency strategies that seek to address each priority area. The action plan identifies 39 proposed actions for government to strengthen or improve on current responses and services. Implementation of the Plan will commence during 2010.
