Prevention and Early Intervention Ministerial Advisory Sub-committee Report (August 2008)

Mental health prevention and early intervention is recognized as important across the lifespan and is a significant contributor to the recovery process. As a strategic step in developing a systematic and integrated approach to the prevention of and early intervention in mental health problems in children and young people, a Prevention and Early Intervention (P&EI) Subcommittee of the Ministerial Advisory Committee on Mental Health was formed late in 2007.

The purpose of the Subcommittee was to provide advice to the Ministerial Advisory Committee and the Minister for Mental Health on key aspects of the evidence-base underpinning work in this area and opportunities to improve mental health service provision for those 0-25 years accordingly.
