Exposure Draft Consultations 2011

In October 2010, the Exposure Draft Mental Health Bill 2010 was released. Individuals and organisations made over 200 submissions regarding whether the proposed reforms form an acceptable and workable reflection of Government policy intent.

Background and commentary on the Exposure Draft Bill was provided in the accompanying Explanatory Guide and Information Sheets.

In March 2011 a series of seven round table meetings were held with over 260 participants to discuss key topics and provide feedback on the proposals for consideration in the subsequent drafting process for the revised Bill. The feedback from the round table meetings has been outlined in summaries of the key points of discussion.
