Mental Health and the Graduate Nursing Program

The Graduate Nurse Programs assist beginner practitioners make the transition to employment and are conducted across most Victorian public and private health services.

Graduate placements available across Victoria’s mental health community includes:

The Graduate Nurse Program Computer Matching Service (GNP Match) matches the preferences of hospitals who offer Graduate Nurse positions and candidates applying for these posts. The purpose is to simplify the hospitals/health service appointment system by computer matching. All graduate nurses who have not previously participated in a Graduate Nurse Program or worked more than an average of 24 hours per week for the first year since registration can apply to the Nurse Computer Match Service.

The following persons are eligible to apply to participate in the GNP Computer Matching Service:

  • Victorian Nurse Graduates, who are Australian citizens/permanent residents
  • Interstate Nurse Graduates, who are Australian citizens/permanent residents
  • New Zealand Nurse Graduates, who are New Zealand citizens
