Graduate nursing online recruitment

The Graduate Nurse Program's Online Computer Matching Service (GNP Match) matches the preferences of hospitals that offer graduate nurse positions and candidates applying for these posts.

Applications are accepted from recent graduates (no more than two years after graduation), provided they satisfy the conditions set out below.

Eligibility criteria

Participants must either be:

• Victorian nurse graduates who are Australian citizens or permanent residents
• interstate nurse graduates who are Australian citizens or permanent residents, or
• New Zealand nurse graduates who are New Zealand citizens.

Essential criteria

• Must be eligible for registration with the Nurses Board of Victoria as a division 1 nurse
• Have Australian or New Zealand citizenship, or Australian 'permanent residency status'
• Have not previously participated in a graduate nurse or midwifery program, or worked more than an average of 24 hours per week for the first year since registration

Any graduate who does not meet the above eligibility criteria can apply for unmatched positions after the Graduate Nurse Computer match has run.

Some private hospitals, mental health programs and midwifery programs do not allocate their candidates through the GNP Match system. Participating hospitals are listed in the positions available section of the GNP Match website.
