Process Redesign Resource

This resource is designed to provide you with some basic knowledge, skills and tools to help you improve processes in your organisation to better meet the needs of the people who use your services.

Do you have a problem with long waiting times, dissatisfied patients or carers, high numbers of adverse events, unacceptable levels of staff turnover? or Have you and your staff been thinking: "I don’t know what we’re going to do but we can’t go on like this!" or Are you just interested in doing things more efficiently?

If you answered 'yes!' to any of these questions, you might be interested in finding out more about process redesign.

Many tools have been developed to help with process redesign.  This resource is not intended to be a compendium of all of them.  It provides a sample of some of the tools you might like to try and gives you some ideas about where you might go to find more.

In developing the resource, the aim was to draw from the wide range of existing material available on this topic and to avoid re-inventing the wheel.  As a consequence, resources have been drawn from a range of currently available material, including some that is not specific to the health industry but can be applied within a health environment.  Material has been drawn from the education sector, manufacturing and industry, as well as others areas in which process redesign activities are being undertaken.
