ProjectsLearning SetsAction learning is a problem solving tool, as well as a key approach to individual, team and organisational development. It is a process of learning and reflection, supported by a small group or ‘set’ of people who have the intention of moving issues forward. Participant’s issues are raised and discussed at each meeting with the aim of problem solving in a supported environment. In 2007, the Management Innovation Council implemented a series of action learning sets across Victorian health services as part of the Management Innovation Learning Project. The 2007 project was comprised of eight Management Innovation Learning Sets, across rural and metropolitan sites. Evaluation of the 2007 project indicates that the program was very valuable to many of the participants, with reports of greater independence, empowerment and increased networking. You can download the evaluation report below. Council ran this program again in 2008, this time with six Management Innovation Learning Sets, the 2009 round of Learning Sets commenced in February 2009 with eight Sets running across Victoria. The Management Innovation Learning Sets Facilitators have developed a document describing ten tools that have been useful as part of the Learning Set program, you can download this document below.
