Victorian Advisory Council on Koori Health
The principal focus of the Victorian Advisory Council on Koori Health (VACKH) is to improve the effectiveness of the health care system for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in Victoria.
The VACKH comprises of three partners to the Victorian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Framework Agreement. The three partners include; the Commonwealth (represented by the Department of Health and Ageing), State Government (represented by the Department of Human Services) and the Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Sector (represented by the Victorian Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation). In the near future, the VACKH partners will endorse a revised agreement.
A key mechanism for state-wide planning, governance, coordination, monitoring and evaluation of Victoria's state-wide implementation plan of the Aboriginal Health National Partnership is the VACKH COAG subcommittee.
