VACKH Victorian Aboriginal Health Plan
The Victorian Aboriginal Health Plan was developed by Victoria's tripartite forum, the Victorian Advisory Council on Koori Health (VACKH). The Plan identifies agreed health priorities and strategies to assist in closing the health gap between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people in Victoria.
VACKH commissioned the Victorian Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (VACCHO) to coordinate the development of the Plan. This was undertaken in partnership with the other VACKH members, the Victorian Government Department of Human Services, the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing, the Department of Planning and Community Development, and also included Aboriginal Affairs Victoria. Development of the Plan involved extensive consultation with VACCHO member organisations.
VACKH has agreed that the Plan will guide the implementation of the Council of Australian Government (COAG) Aboriginal health reforms in Victoria. The Plan will provide the broad framework for the development of regional implementation plans under the National Partnership Agreement on Closing the Gap in Indigenous Health Outcomes.
The VACKH Aboriginal Health Plan is currently being printed and will be available on this website soon.
