The Future of Home Based Acute Care in Victoria

1996–97 sees the launch of Phase Two of the Hospital in the Home program. The Government has committed a further $20 million over the next four years to ensure that the choice of home based acute care is available to all Victorians and becomes an integral part of the health care system in this state.

Comparison of HITH Separations: Phase One Versus Phase Two of the HITH Program

 

 

There was an average of 2,500 HITH separations in every six months of Phase One, which spanned the 1994–95 and the 1995–96 financial years. In Phase Two, there were 4,170 HITH separations for the six month period from July 96 to Dec 96.
