Complaints involving registered health professionals and student health professionals

On 1 July 2010 the law about HSC consultation with health professional registration boards changed, except for Chinese medicine, medical radiation practitioners who will be registered nationally from 2012.

Arrangements for consultation and referral of a complaint about an individual registered health professional, or a student undertaking studies to become a registered health professional, have been developed.

HSC and the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), on behalf of the 10 national health professional registration boards, are responsible for the arrangements. The arrangements are set out in a Memorandum of Understanding.
