Appointments to the Health Services Review Council

The Minister for Health, the Hon David Davis MP, is pleased to invite applications for sessional appointment to the Health Services Review Council. Appointments are being sought for terms of office for up to three years.

The Health Services Review Council is established under section 14 of the Health Services (Conciliation and Review) Act 1987. Its purpose is to:

  • advise the Minister on the health complaints system and operations of the Commissioner under the Act and the Health Records Act 2001
  • advise the Minister and the Commissioner on issues referred to it by the Commissioner
  • provide expertise, guidance and advice to the Commissioner
  • promote the Commissioner, the operations of the Commissioner and the guiding principles
  • with the Minister’s approval, refer matters relating to health service complaints, or interferences with privacy within the meaning of the Health Records Act 2001, to the Commissioner for inquiry.

This is an exciting opportunity for both interested and experienced persons to contribute and provide advice to the Minister for Health and the Health Services Commissioner on the management of health complaints in Victoria and health complaints systems and policies.

Applications are sought to fill vacancies under section 12(3)(a), (b) and (e) of the Health Services (Conciliation and Review) Act 1987.  That is people who:
