Health Purchasing Victoria (HPV)The Minister for Health, the Hon Daniel Andrews, MP, is seeking expressions of interest for appointment to the Board of Health Purchasing Victoria (HPV). Health Purchasing Victoria (HPV) is established under section 129 of the Health Services Act 1988 (the Act). It is a public authority that represents the Crown. The major function of HPV is to facilitate access to the supply of goods and services to public hospitals and other health services on best value terms. This includes the development of policies related to the supply of goods and services and the management and disposal of goods. HPV consists of the following members appointed by the Governor in Council on the recommendation of the Minister.
Three positions will fall vacant at 30 June 2009 and expressions of interest are being sought for the positions at (a) a Chairperson, (b) Chief Executive Officer of a public hospital, and (f) Member. In line with the government’s policy to achieve a target of at least 40 per cent representation of women on government bodies, women are encouraged to apply and to also register their interest on the Victorian Women’s Register maintained by the Office of Women’s Policy.
