Emergency Care in Victoria

Timely and appropriate emergency department (ED) treatment is an important government service provided for all Victorians. Patient demand for ED care is increasing as a result of an ageing population, a rise in the number of people with chronic disabilities and new technologies that enable treatment for previously untreatable diseases and conditions.
