Public Hospitals & Health Services - Capital Projects

Here you will find information relating to budget outlays for hospital capital works and an overview of major metropolitan, rural and statewide projects.

The Victorian Government has made a significant commitment to continuing the renewal, expansion and refurbishment of the health services asset base of the State.

Funding has been allocated for the redevelopment of a number of major metropolitan hospitals to expand services, improve the management of emergency demand and ensure facilities meet current standards of operating and functional efficiency.

The extensive program of refurbishment and redevelopment of rural health and aged care facilities will continue. This program will ensure the ongoing operational viability of these facilities and ensure rural and regional communities retain access to a range of local health care services.

In addition, funding has been allocated to address core infrastructure investment requirements to ensure the operational viability of services and enable compliance with current legislative and regulatory requirements.
