Subject: Emergency ambulance services price increase
Purpose: To advise hospitals and the ambulance services of an emergency ambulance service price increase effective 1 October 2007
The Secretary has issued a direction to ambulance services in respect to the emergency transport fee that they charge. Effective from 1 October 2007, Rural Ambulance Victoria (RAV) and Alexandra District Ambulance Service (ADAS) emergency fee will increase by 1.5% whilst Metropolitan Ambulance Service (MAS) emergency fee will increase by 5.5%.
This price increase will apply to all public and private hospitals. A similar price increase has also been applied to transports from the community, TAC, WorkCover and the Department of Veteran Affairs emergency attendances and transports.
