Private Admitted Patients - overnight stays and same day patients
The State Department of Human Services Victoria (DHS) has determined that the fees for 2001/2002 for private overnight stays and same day patients in public hospitals effective 1 July 2001 (tables 1 and 2 below), will increase from the 2000/2001 level (Acute Health Circular 12/2000) by 6%. This represents the percentage change in the CPI (March 2000 to March 2001 quarter). If there are any further adjustments to these fees, you will be informed in the usual way by Hospital Circular.

DHS has increased these, effective 1 July 2001 until further notice, by 6% (the percentage change in the CPI (March 2000 to March 2001 quarter)).

Day Only Arrangements - amendments to the Type C List
The Commonwealth has advised that amendments to the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) will affect the Day Only arrangements Type C List effective from 6 July 2001. The changes apply to Medicare cardiac ultrasound and cardiac angiography items. See Commonwealth Circular HBF 720 for details.
