1. TAC Admitted Patients - changes in fees

  1. Acute

    For acute episodes of care, the base fee for TAC separations on or after 1 July 2000 until further notice is $2011 per Weighted Inlier Equivalent Separation (WIES8). Refer to HDSS Bulletin Issue 16 (Item 16.1).

  2. Sub-Acute (Rehabilitation) fees

    Effective on or after 1 July 2000 the following fees apply for patients admitted to rehabilitation programs designated by the Department of Human Services.

    • Level 1 (Care Type 2): $360 per day
    • Level 2 (Care Type 6): $300 per day
    • Level 3 (Care Type 7): $300 per day

2. TAC Non-Admitted Patients - changes in fees

TAC non-admitted patient fees increased from 1 July 2000.
For detailed information on Schedule of Fees please refer to HDSS Bulletin Issue 20 (Item 20.18).

3. VWA Admitted Patients - changes in fees

  1. Acute

    For acute episodes of care, the base fee for VWA separations from 1 July 2000 to 30 September 2000, the price of $1956 (the 1999-2000 price) is to be retained. The admitted patient statement will be updated to reflect the change to WIES8 and AR-DRG4.1 (with Victorian modifications).

    For acute episodes of care, the base fee for VWA separations on or after 1 October 2000 until further notice is $2367 per Weighted Inlier Equivalent Separation (WIES8). Refer to HDSS Bulletin Issue 21 (Item 21.5).

  2. Sub-Acute (Rehabilitation) fees

    The following fees apply for patients admitted to rehabilitation programs designated by the Department of Human Services.

    1 July 2000 to 30 September 2000 inclusive, the rates remain at the 1999-2000 rates of:

    • Level 1 (Care Type 2): $350 per day
    • Level 2 (Care Type 6): $291 per day
    • Level 3 (Care Type 7): $291 per day

    1 October 2000 to 30 June 2001 inclusive, the rates are:

    • Level 1 (Care Type 2): $424 per day
    • Level 2 (Care Type 6): $352 per day
    • Level 3 (Care Type 7): $352 per day

4. VWA Non-Admitted Patients - changes in fees

For VWA patients treated from 1 July 2000 to 30 September 2000 inclusive, the rates remain at the 1999-2000 rates as currently published on the DHS Fees manual website.

For VWA patients treated from 1 October 2000 to 30 June 2001 inclusive, the rates to apply are identical to those previously issued for TAC and other compensable patients in HDSS Bulletin Issue 21 (Item 21.5).

Please forward only July to September 2000 invoices until further notified. For invoice processing details refer to HDSS Bulletin Issue 21 (Item 21.5).
