1. TAC Admitted Patients - changes in fees
For acute episodes of care, the base fee for TAC separations on or after 1 July 1999 until further notice is $1,956 per Weighted Inlier Equivalent Separation (WIES7).
Effective on or after 1 July 1999 the following fees apply for patients admitted to rehabilitation programs designated by the Department of Human Services:

1 (Care Type 2): $350 per day
Level
2 (Care Type 6): $291 per day
Level
3 (Care Type 7): $291 per day
2. VWA Admitted Patients - changes in fees
For acute episodes of care, the base fee for VWA separations on or after 1 Dec 1999 until further notice is $1,956 per Weighted Inlier Equivalent Separation (WIES7).Effective on or after 1 Dec 1999 the following fees apply for patients admitted to rehabilitation programs designated by the Department of Human Services:

3. TAC and VWA admitted patient statements
As advised in the Health Data Standards and Systems (HDSS) Bulletin (www.dhs.vic.gov.au/ahs/hdss) Issue 5/1999, hospitals are required to retransmit all admitted patient episodes with a VWA and TAC Account Class with a separation date on or after 1 July 1999. This will trigger the production of a new TAC or VWA statement which can be forwarded, together with an invoice, to the relevant authority for payment.
4. TAC and VWA Non-Admitted Patients - changes in fees
The compensable non-admitted patient fees for ancillary services provided in public hospitals to:
TAC patients have been amended effective 1 July 1999; and
VWA and all other compensable patients excluding TAC patients, patients have been amended - effective 1 December 1999.
Fee Schedule - administrative change
The fee schedule for services provided to non-admitted compensable (excluding VWA) patients for outpatient / casualty / accident & emergency services provided by salaried medical practitioners in public hospitals provided to compensable non-admitted patients has been deleted from the State's Fees Manual. It can now be accessed directly from the TAC website.
