Five point HIV action planVictoria has the second highest HIV notifications in Australia after New South Wales. The rate of notification is growing. In 2006 there were 263 HIV notifications - the highest number of annual notifications in 15 years and a 140 percent increase in notifications over the past eight years. To tackle the growing rate of HIV the Victorian Government has developed a five point action plan to boost the state’s HIV and STI prevention efforts. >> Read more about the five point plan. One of the components of the five point plan is the work of the Departmental HIV Prevention Taskforce. The Taskforce is working with government to advise on, and advance action, that will better enable community agencies to deliver services, education, testing and prevention programs at the grass-roots level.
