Northern marks major milestone

Northern Health marked a major milestone mid-August by providing its 100,000 COVID-19 vaccination.

The health service started COVID-19 vaccinations for staff members in March at Northern Hospital Epping.

Since, the clinic has moved to a mass hub at Plenty Ranges Arts and Convention Centre in South Morang where about 1,500 people are vaccinated daily.

Many staff from different areas work in collaboration to run the clinic every day, including nursing staff, ward clerks, security guards, PSAs, concierge staff, doctors and educators.

‘The general response from the community after they have been vaccinated is really positive,’ said COVID-19 vaccination clinic acting nurse unit manager Hayley Gray.

‘The vaccination team has truly lived Northern Health’s values, working together to achieve this amazing feat, keeping everyone safe and, in every interaction, acting with kindness,’ said infection prevention/nursing projects director of operations Madelaine Flynn.
