Global cancer conference online and free

Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre will host the virtual Global Academics Programs (GAP2020) international cancer conference between November 16 and 19.

GAP2020 will bring together experts from 52 leading institutions globally to discuss the very latest in cancer research and care.

The conference – hosted in association with MD Anderson Cancer Centre in Houston, Texas, USA – will be delivered totally online due to COVID-19.

‘Peter Mac is excited to partner with MD Anderson Cancer Centre to present the GAP2020 conference for the first time in Australia and also the first time virtually – and free – due to the pandemic,’ said conference convenor and Peter Mac’s chief nursing officer Jac Mathieson.

‘This means an even wider audience can experience our excellent program of clinical and translational research, all centred on the conference theme of New Frontiers – Leading Inspired Cancer Care.’

Speakers will include Professor Ian Frazer, who developed the basic technology behind the HPV vaccine against cervical cancer.

Registration gives access to the virtual event platform – including the live program of plenary and breakout sessions, poster presentations as well as trade exhibitions and opportunities to connect with colleagues.
