March 2011
Western Health Chief Executive
Officer Kathryn Cook at the Sunbury Day Hospital official opening.
$21.4 million day facility in Sunbury now open
Mr Davis said the $21.4 million day
hospital had already been treating dialysis patients and was now treating
others.
The new hospital on Macedon
Street is operated by Western Health.
The facility provides medical
and surgical procedures, including renal dialysis, chemotherapy, same‑day procedures and specialist
clinics.
The hospital has two operating
theatres with the ability to administer general anaesthesia and recovery
services for minor same-day surgical procedures, a renal dialysis room,
consulting rooms and office areas.
The site features the
heritage-listed Ardcloney House, which was built in 1911 and once belonged to a
local doctor.
The historic building was kept and now forms part of the Sunbury Day Hospital.
