VCAT guardianship information is now available online.

Hospitals help develop guardianship hub

An online service will help those needing to make and manage VCAT applications about guardianship, administration, medical treatment and powers of attorney.

The Guardianship Hub will be accessible via the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal’s website at https://www.vcat.vic.gov.au/ from July 3.

People using the Guardianship Hub will be able to access all details of their VCAT case in one place throughout the VCAT process – from application to final decision.

They will be able to:

•       Create an application and save it as a draft;

•       Submit the application at a time that suits them;

•       Upload supporting documents with their application and throughout the VCAT process;

•       Receive alerts such as hearing and decision notifications;

•       View the progress of their case at VCAT.

A print-friendly form will still be available.

The Guardianship Hub is already used in six Victorian hospitals, which have been involved in its development.

They report significant benefits – it is fast and easy to use.

Applicants who use VCAT’s current online form will need to create a new account to use the Guardianship Hub – existing accounts will be deactivated on July 3.

•       Questions about the Guardianship Hub can be answered by emailing humanrights@vcat.vic.gov.au.
