Cancer centre for Echuca

A flagship new Echuca Cancer and Wellness Centre is another step closer with $6 million to build the new centre, which will completely overhaul chemotherapy and dialysis services at Echuca Regional Health.

Thanks to the State Government’s investment, design and architectural work will soon get under way for the dedicated facility, which will offer better comfort for patients and a more welcoming environment for staff.

Set to include 10 treatments bays, the centre will increase capacity to treat more chemotherapy and dialysis patients every year.

The centre will offer the latest wellness programs that help improve the health and wellbeing of cancer patients – both during treatment and recovery.

More than 1,200 patients each year will benefit from better care, with improved access to consultations from haematologists, medical oncologists, nephrologists and radiation oncologists, all under the one roof.

‘This facility will be a game-changer for patients in their toughest fight,’ said Minister for Health Jenny Mikakos.

‘It will mean patients can get the world-class treatment they need at home, without having to travel long distances.’
