Online courses for young doctors and undergrads

eLearning courses on medical certification of cause of death (MCCOD) for undergraduate and early-career physicians are now available.

The Bloomberg Philanthropies Data for Health Initiative courses at the Global Burden of Disease Group, the University of Melbourne, are free and available to students/physicians of any country.

Accurate medical certification of death plays a critical role in the generation of high-quality mortality data but certifying physicians are often working in time-poor, high-pressure settings.

MCCOD for medical students and MCCOD for junior physicians and interns will allow both undergraduate and early-career doctors to gain a comprehensive understanding of MCCOD that can be easily applied to their work.

The instructions provided in the two courses are based on the full version of the WHO 2016 medical certificate of cause of death.

The eLearnings are non-accredited but participants who successfully complete the courses will receive a certificate of completion upon request.

Hospitals, professional associations and learning institutions are encouraged to share this information with students and physicians.
