Northern Health staff embrace their inner children

Northern Health staff who look after children in Melbourne’s north focused on education and awareness during Paediatric Week.

Staff and patients took part in themed days – including a crazy hair day – to embrace their inner child.

There were also therapy dog visits, superhero day, crazy sock day, story-time and a visit from the clown doctors.

Educational sessions and skill stations at Northern Hospital Epping, showcased the diversity of paediatrics within Northern Health and ways to improve and promote healthcare delivery.

‘These sessions help staff build knowledge and expose them to the management of our paediatric patients,’ said paediatric clinical nurse educator Pamela Perera.

‘Collaboration with education teams and departments has demonstrated active participation in paediatrics and, ultimately, has standardised the care provided across our organisation.’
