Clinical Systems
Implementation
The Clinical Systems implementation schedule has been revised to take advantage of lessons learned in the program to date and to maximise the potential for Clinical Systems implementation success. Under the revised approach the Release 2 implementation time frame for some Group 2 and all Group 3 agencies is extended into 2011. Adoption of the revised approach has been reviewed and supported by the relevant governance bodies including the Board of Health Information Systems.
The new implementation schedule is focussed on achievement of the following milestones:
- Two agencies (Eastern Health and the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital (RVEEH)) live on Clinical System Release 1 by end 2009. Eastern and Eye and Ear commenced data migration for release 1a on Monday 12 October with go-lives expected on 30 November 2009.
- Two agencies (Austin Health and Peninsula Health) live on Clinical System Release 1 and 2 by end September 2010, and a further two agencies (Eastern Health and RVEEH) (totalling four) live on Release 1 and 2 by end 2010.
- A further six agencies (Northern Health, Western Health, Royal Women’s Hospital, Southern Health, Melbourne Health and Loddon Mallee Rural Health Alliance) (totalling ten) live on Clinical System Release 1 and 2 during 2011.
