Clinical Systems
Implementation
The HealthSMART Clinical System implementation program will deploy the Cerner Millennium application to Victorian public health agencies and rural alliances with an initial focus on a set of lead agencies. Lead agencies for the Clinical System project include Austin Health, Eastern Health, Peninsula Health and Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital.
The process of implementing the Victorian state build within an agency focuses on localisation of specific elements of the system to align with agency process and structure requirements.
The Clinical System is in production use at all lead agencies. Implementation within each agency is as follows:

The Clinical System implementation strategy is based on:
- Employing a common system design for all implementations - Victorian state build
- All agencies undertaking the project as part of a group, with each organisation's project running in parallel and working to a common schedule with shared milestones and timeframes
- A programmatic implementation approach facilitated by the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO)
