Parent-managed head lice programPage contents: Overview | Designing your school program OverviewThe Parent-managed head lice program is a concept that has been utilised extensively in Queensland, and piloted in a number of schools within Victoria. This program aims to involve parents and volunteers from the school or childcare centre rather than relying on an external service provider. It may utilise other community resources such as local council, community health centres, local business and the Department of Human Services. These resources are available for use in your community and will help address ongoing head lice management and control issues. The package provides information and resources to develop and implement a parent-managed program. The package consists of two types of resources:
All of the resources within the package have been bundled together in a single PDF file in the order that reflects the implementation of the program. This file can be used as a reference for planning the implementation.
The contents of the PDF package are listed below. Resources available for download as Microsoft Word or Excel files are indicated. These can be customised by schools for their own use.
