VICTORIAN ADVISORY COMMITTEE ON CASEMIX DATA INTEGRITY (VACCDI)

Role - Revised September 2007

1.  To provide advice to the Department on:

• Costing standards and the accuracy of cost data used in the development of cost weights.
• Coding audits and other data quality initiatives.
• Data requirements and definitions, and coding standards and systems used to report patient information used for funding.
• Issues of data availability, data definitions and capacity of sector to respond to patient and cost data requests associated with any funding or service reviews to be undertaken by the Department.

2.  To liaise with:

• The Casemix Clinical Advisory Sub-Committee on any relevant clinical matters affecting data quality.
• The Victorian Coding Committee on any relevant coding matters affecting data quality.
• The Clinical Costing Standards Association on any relevant clinical costing matters affecting data quality.

3.  To provide representatives to Steering Committees and Technical Reference Groups established by the Department for the purposes of assisting with reviews of funding or other policy matters, as may be requested from time to time.
